1 Metre plus Hi Gain Satellite Dish - Juan Les Pins

14 May, 2016

Hi Jay
It's been a dead loss for the last 10 days or so.
Even 962 went which is normally the strongest BBC 1 regional went off and not even C4 Ireland was working.
The signal started gaining strength again on Wednesday and all is working fine again apart from BBC news 24 HD and 5 HD on 105.
It's been very windy though and the signal pixilates a lot and rain fade comes in quickly too.
I think we should be ok again now until the Autumn and the 1.1 dish is coping fine under normal conditions .
Cheers
Rob

Comment from HAS Europe:

Thanks for taking the time to give us a update.
The C4 Ireland trick does not work any more as C4 Ireland is now also on a UK Spot beam.

We will post this review to help people make up there mind on the 1 metre plus dish and if it's right for them.

11 May, 2016

Hi  Jay, Another quick update.  Lost all the  'free to air'  channels again last night, 10 May,  and sadly this time I could not even get ITV south-east/Meridien either, as all the ITV extra channels were off.  None of the extra BBC channels were working, including BBC NI which is supposed to be the strongest.

BBC, ITV and channel 4 are all back again this morning, but still no Channel 5.  That seems to have disappeared completely.    Here's hoping the signal will improve on all channels again soon.?
Best wishes,
Carole

Comment from HAS Europe:

We know that the signal is much stronger during the later part of the year but it is always weak during the Summer months.

I can recommend another service so you can use on demand on your sky box like BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and demand five. Please let me know if you would like details.

Hi Jay,

Just to let you know that as our ITV channel was off last night I tried finding another ITV region that worked and was successful with one only.    I could not tell what ITV channel it was until their local news came on and it turned out to be south-east ' Meridien' as their news was centred around Canterbury, Brighton, Maidstone, Dover etc.  Anyway, that channel worked perfectly all evening.
Pleased to report that our BBC, ITV and Channel 4 is back again this morning but still no satellite signal with Channel 5 on either 105 or 171.
Hope that helps.
Best wishes,

Hi guys, managed to pull back the channels by upgrading to the HasEurope 1 Metre Plus Hi gain dish.

Signals are still weak today, 27% on 2E, nothing on 2F or 2G.
We've got 101-104 OK, no 105, no Spike, no CBS reality…

Will try our HasEurope 1.4 Mega dish in the Var (La Croix Valmer) today at a different client…Ray

1 Metre plus Hi-Gain Dish - Vidauban

9 May, 2016

Hi Terry and Jay,

Just reporting that there was pixillating here on Saturday 7 May and on Sunday evening 8 May we lost ALL the free to air channels - BBC,ITV, channels 4 and 5 etc.  message said ' your sky+ HD box isn't getting a satellite signal'.
Pleased to report, however, that this morning, Monday 9 May, we again have good reception as normal on BBC, ITV and channel 4 at the moment,  but channel 5 is still off - no sat signal.

Has anyone else down here reported any loss of signal or other problems.  I presume there was a drop in the signal strength but it would help to know your opinion and if others have reported similar problems.

Weather conditions were good on Saturday and Sunday, apart from cloud on Sunday afternoon and today is the same, cloud and some scattered light showers.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Carol

Comment from HAS Europe:

Unfortunately the signal has dropped again and a lot of these channels have all but disappeared due to the extremely weak signal
in your location. For channels broadcast from Astra 2F  these have been listed below in Green this signal has completely gone at the moment.
Astra 2G is very weak and you might find that sometimes during the day you can receive these channels but not a night
Try the alternative channels in Standard definition as they are on a different satellite and let me know.

Channel 5 HD Astra 2G try both channels 105 & 171 & 171 & 175
ITV 2 HD Astra 2G Try channel 118
ITV 3 HD Astra 2G Try channel 119
ITV 4 HD Astra 2G Try channel 120
ITV Encore HD Astra 2G Try channel 123 & 269
ITV HD Astra 2G Try channel 103
Channel 4 HD Astra 2G TRY CHANNEL 104

There are not alternatives for these channels

7 June, 2015

Hi Terry and Jay,

Just to let you know that this evening we have No  satellite signal on ANY of the 'Free to Air' UK channels....No.BBC channels,  No ITV channels or  Channel 4, Channel 5, E4, More 4 etc.etc.etc.

This it not only irritating and very disappointing but is now beginning to get beyond a joke. I know others down here who are beginning to feel the same.

I am paying £42.50 per month ( £610 per annum )  to watch 'Sky' TV chiefly so that I can watch the main 'free' UK channels which I can now no longer receive, or at least when I do it is not regular and at certain times such as this evening I am receiving nothing at all.   I have also paid hundreds of euros to ensure I get good reception using the 'tested' dish that you recommended, but to no avail.

I realise that use of the Astra 2E satellite is completely outwith your control.  However, the revenue that Sky receive from its customers here must be worth multi millions of pounds per annum and surely it is within their power to do something to improve the reception,  or risk their customers cancelling their subscriptions altogether.

Can you please tell me if Sky have any plans to do something about this for their customers.  You must be terribly fed up of complaints like this and I am sorry to add to your troubles.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Comment from HAS Europe:

There has been a drop in signal again for BBC, ITV etc.. this has happened before and generally after a short time a few days or a weeks the signal has then come back to normal. The last time this happened was on the weekend of 17th July the signal for BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 all but disappeared in the South of France.

After a few days the signal did come up but not to as higher level as before. It seems that our 1 Metre plus dish does not give 24/7 all Channels reliable service. We still believe that when you are looking at 1.2 Metre and below dishes our dish beats all the competition. In the meantime use should do the following:

This Time may be different but June and July are seeing a lot of changes with satellites with the new Astra 2g coming on line.

It may be best to wait until late summer and see how things settle down before making and changes to your dish .

This way of watching channel 4 Ireland works very well as not on the UK Spot Beam You must watch Channel 4 this way during this period of weak signal.

I live in Le Rouret and had my dish upgraded last year by HasEurope. Initially, there was an odd day when there was either a bad reception on one of the channels or no reception at all, but during the course of the last two or three months the reception has settled down and I now can now watch all the channels BBC One 101, BBC Two 102, ITV 103, Channel 4 104 And Channel Five 105 perfectly.

Thank you HasEurope!

Hi Terry & Jay

Last week I was in Cannes and checked out the Sky reception.
The only issue I had was with BBC HD and ITV HD. Sometimes
the picture would break up. When this kept happening I switched to
non HD BBC and ITV and the reception was OK
I was away in Italy for a couple of days during a storm around Cannes so, can't tell you what is happening when the weather's  not so great.

1 Metre plus Hi-Gain Dish - Valbonne

31 July, 2014

Hi Terry, The dish/LNB combination works well most of the time. However it
is affected by bad weather , particularly heavy rain. But it was like that also
before the change. We use the add channels solution you suggested which also
works well, especially channel 4 Ireland which 100% effective.
A few weeks ago we lost almost everything for a while then I read that there
had been two large solar flares which seemingly can affect all communications.

Hi there Terry,
Let me say, that since the larger dish was installed, I can get every channel I need - and even some I don't need.
I get 101/2/3/4/5 with no problem unless there is a severe storm in the area when pictures flicker somewhat - but that is so rare it's not worth thinking about.
Anyone else thinking of upgrading to a bigger dish but reluctant, should go ahead......do it!

Dear Terry
Our reception appears to be about the norm - we get all the channels during the day. We always lose Ch4 & Ch5 in the evenings. Sometimes we lose the BBC channels in the evenings. At the moment we seem to be keeping ITV in the evenings although sometimes it goes a little crackly.
The dish is well hidden behind a mezzanine floor on the roof so has caused no problem with the neighbours.
Hope this helps.

Comment from HAS Europe:

At a glance this client looks like he cannot get Channel 4 and Channel 5 but he can get Channel 4 Ireland by using other channels and adding this channels and he can also use Channel 5 HD using Channel 171.

We also recommend trying different regions of BBC, 951 to 978

Further update following installation of new 1 x metre plus dish.   Early on everything worked very well and then in May it all went pear shaped for some time. … Since the start of Wimbledon tennis and touching wood all the way, everything is performing very well and also since the tennis coverage has stopped.    There have been very few pixilations and loss of signal during the past few weeks so am hoping that now things have settled down and that the satellite in the sky does not move again.  Phew!

Comment from HAS Europe:

We are not sure why Mr Sherwood has still not got reception on BBC, ITV etc It can be difficult to tell the difference between normal loss of service during periodsof weak signal or when a clients dish is out of alignment. We are also learning that old standard sky boxes do not work as well with a weak signal as modern HD boxes.

This is not the issue in this case as Mr Sherwood has a HD Box.

I have lost the Satelite signal a couple of times in heavy rain, but that was the same as with the old smaller dish. Thank you also for your tips re using BBC Irland, that comes through very strong. Hello Terry,

No problem, I can review the performance of the new dish so far. Initially we had some problems receiving Channel 4 & BBC2 in the evenings but now all channels are received OK at all times of the day or evening

The picture is good on all channels and the only thing we notice at the moment is some momentary pixellation on some channels occasionally.

The size of the dish is not an issue as it is on the roof of our house and is not easy to see.

Hi Jay,

As you know we had problems starting on 12 May which continued more or less continuously for 7-8 days.  At times we lost all main free to air channels, and at other times just some of them.  I resorted to using Channel 4 Ireland when needed and also tried the other ITV regional channels, only 1 or 2 of all those I programmed gave a picture.    At times during that 8 day period I had no signal on any of the free to air channels, including all the extra channels I had tuned and saved according to your instruction sheet.  The only one that works during the ' no signal' period is channel 4 Ireland.

Things returned to normal around this past week-end, 18/19 May, but not completely.  Last night, Wed.21 May,  I was watching ITV1 ( Emmerdale ) when half-way through it began to pixilate then we got the full  ' no signal' sign and lost the picture completely.  Fortunately one of the other regional channels worked - I think it was Anglia because of a local news item later in the evening,  but  it doesn't tell you which channel you are watching.   I have tuned in at least 21 other ITV channels plus the ITV1+ , ITV2 and ITV2+  The only ITV channels which have a name on my  ' other channels'  are  ITV border and ITV wales so I cannot identify which regional ITV channel I am watching.   My default ITV channel is north-west/Granada

I've just checked the TV now and so far we have a good picture on BBC1, BBC2 and ITV. But channel 4, E4 and More 4 are pixilating.

I will see how things go this evening and will make a point of checking them all and making notes for a report tomorrow.

Hope the above is helpful.   How is everybody else doing down here?

Hi Jay
Whaadya know-They've all come back again-even BBC2 HD
Seems completely random-I'm hearing people with 1.3 meter dishes are having the same problems so if it's the fact that we're on the edge of a 'null' then nothing's going to work. I heard that there will be a further weakening of signal in June with another Astra changeover- you heard that ?
Cheers
Rob

Comment from HAS Europe:

Hi Rob,
Many of these rumours are put around by people selling IPTV.
There is no reason to think that come June or any other month things might be better, the same or worse.
To highlight this see rumour from sky in Madrid who seem to be talking about you on the Radio and saying the signal is going to
be in June or July!
In our view there is a limit to how big you can go with a dish.
We have gone over that limit and found the very best dish for its size.
we really believe that it's better that using an 80CM dish but quite clearly will not always
give good reception.
We think it's great that you are educating your listeners to reception problems
Terry has been listening in the car in the UK to your show, Thanks Rob
Keeps us update with any news
p.s Tiffany said BBC 1 968 seems to be strongest BBC 1 Today.

MAY

ASTRA 2E SIGNAL WEAKENS
We have received many reports of weaker signals from the Astra 2E UK spot beam, which carries BBC & ITV.
In S.E. France, a local English language radio station was "swamped with complaints" according to our correspondent in Frejus.
The deterioration has affected southern France and Spain. It's likely that the satellite has been the subject of "station keeping", which can result in a slight movement of the beam. This happens every 4-6 weeks, resulting in loss of signal if the receiving dish is right at the margin of a viewable signal. All geostationary satellites need to be kept on station, which is achieved by firing tiny jets on the spacecraft.
Digital broadcasting is normally either received perfectly or not at all. Analogue systems in the past would just become more grainy.
Hot weather and humidity can also weaken faint satellite signals.
The solutions to push the signal back over the threshold for breakup are:
better LNB
adjustment of the dish
bigger dish
more sensitive receiver.
The signal should improve again in June or July.

Comment from HAS Europe:

There has been a drop in signal for BBC, ITV etc.. this has happened before and generally after a short time
a few days or a week the signal has then come back to normal. In the meantime use should do the following:
This way of watching channel 4 Ireland works very well as not on the UK Spot Beam
You must watch Channel 4 this way during this period of weak signal.

Good Morning,

Since we had the larger dish from you, every time there is a strong wind our dish moves slightly. We have lost all the "weak channels" in the last 2 days.  Can somebody come out and reset the dish position for us AND use a huge spanner to tighten the dish up ;-)
Many thanks in advance

1 Metre Plus Hi-Gain Dish - Monaco & Menton

13 May, 2014

Hi Jay,

I apologise if this is another one of a long list of emails you are receiving about lack of signal.

As you know, I have purchased a bigger dish both in Monaco and also yesterday in Menton. I have also bought a new Sky box in Monaco so that I have the latest equipment. Yest still I have no channels (other than a few Sky ones).

I understand that a lot of southern France has been affected at the moment but given that the weather is pretty good is this going to continue?

I do appreciate that you are at the mercy of the satellite you are using, but for us paying customers - it is pretty frustrating and we would like to know if it is likely to improve.

Kind regards,

Roy

Hi Terry

I know you are waiting for a recommendation from me and I will do this eventually but in all honesty I can't rave at the moment as it's all a bit of a nightmare. No BBC, no ITV even Sky breaks up.  Channel 4 plus 1 not working etc etc. Not all the time of course but lately a lot. I did speak with Tiffany and she explained there are lots of changes going on with the positioning so of course I'll wait and hope it rights itself. it's getting to be a real drag tho. There are a couple of programmed I follow and can't.

Anyway just explaining why I can't rave about the servce - realise it's not your fault but it's hardly worth doing at the moment and investing in the new dish and the yearly subscription. Let's hope it settles down and works for us all. Have to say you and Tiffany and her husband - everyone is so kind and helpful. Do hope it works out.

Thanks Terry. Jilly xxx

Hi,

We had ITV,BBC until 6pm then everything went off.
When we had the other dish we were told that we would only get sky channels. If we were to buy the new 1 m dish we would get all channel. As it is at the moment we only have sky so it seems that we are not benefiting from the new sky 1m dish. Can you organise for your couple to come and look at the system?
Many thanks
Patricia

Comment from HAS Europe:

We have advised this client that if Sky Channels like Sky Sports 1 on channel 401 or Sky One on Channel 106 were receiving "no satellite signal is being received message" then
we would recommend as service call as these channels are easily received on both an 80 CM and our 1 Metre plus hi gain satellite dish. A service call with local installer will not bring BBC, ITV back as there has been a drop in signal for BBC, ITV etc.. this has happened before and generally after a short time a few days or a week the signal has then come back to normal.

Thanks Jay it is good now,
For feedback for reception with the new 1m dish, a bit of wind and i have no more bbcs and itvs i have to retune it now. But originally when i set it up it was good We re talking mm for redirecting the dish. I plan to put a study pole in the ground with concrete, the mistral in the sof is catching the bigger dishes far more obviously. I did find that turning the LNB 20 degrees improved the signal quite a bit

Kind regards

Hi Terry,
Yes, all works well. However, after installation, we noticed that the arm brackets that hold the head in place are not positioned correctly. When attached, they actually bend the arm that the head sits on, therefore throwing it off alignment. Therefore BBC2 cannot be picked up with the arms attached. It is fine if the rams and detached and the head maintains its correct position. Please let me know.
Thanks
David

Comment from HAS Europe:

Hi David
This is a new one on me
We have been thinking about if the LNB is in the best position but not that the arms would make the signal less
The arms may also shadow part of the dish making the signal lower.
Remember if you have a problem with BBC2 to Try channel 142 and 970/971 and 972
I will pass this on to Ray for him to look into further.
There is no problem with you leaving the arms off
Thank you for taking the time to give us this review

Since the 1Metre Plus dish was installed on our chimney we've had excellent reception of BBC One 101, BBC Two 102, ITV 103, Channel 4 104 and Channel Five 105.

In our case, the dish is even less noticeable than the 80cm one as it has been positioned further down the chimney stack. Good work. Very satisfied.

Comment from HAS Europe:

Hi Kenneth
I think this was the Sun being in the same place as the satellite this only happens for a few weeks twice a year
thanks for the update
You are the only client who has told us about this expected event
Terry

SUN OUTAGE TODAY 2/3/14
Satellite viewers in many parts of Europe will lose some UK channels at around 11 am CET today, for up to 14 minutes Twice a year at the equinox, the satellites pass close to the sun, which temporarily overwhelms transmissions. (If they are being received weakly on the ground).
Strong channels aren't affected. Viewers in the British Isles see a slight reduction in signal but no practical effects.
Sun outage lasts until 10th. March in southern Europe and 4th. March in northern Europe. It returns in the autumn and is an annual event.
If you are suffering sun outage and it is sunny, you can check for anything obscuring your dish's view of the satellites. Any shadows on the face of your dish at this time indicate it is being obscured. This can have a drastic effect on signal.
It's also useful to determine a good location for a new dish. Any potential site in full sun at 11am Central Europe Time will have an unobstructed view of the UK satellites at 28.2º east

Dear Jay

We have had the new dish and Sky HD box for a week now and are really pleased with the quality of the picture. With our previous dish, the signal for BBC and ITV channels was either breaking up or nonexistent, and Channel 5 was nowhere to be found. Now we have ALL channels and the picture is crystal clear and so far we have had no problem with the signal at all.  The dish is larger than the old one, but it is on the side of the house so we don't see it! It was also worth upgrading to the Sky HD box even though we are not sunscribing to the HD channels which charge.

Overall an expensive outlay but for us it was worth it.

I would like to say that I am extremely happy with the 1 metre plus hi-gain dish which you fitted for me. I can get a full set of channels including BBC, ITV and Channel 5; the reception is very clear although can become alittle disjoint during times of heavy rain.

My parents also have had the 1 metre plus hi-gain dish fitted and are very pleased with the reception.

The dish is quite large and was a bit of a shock initially but I have now got used to the size of it, you positioned it so that it was not too visible from the house which is great and the brackets which you used have held it nice and stable during times of strong wind.

Many thanks for your help, Karen

19 February, 2014

Hi Terry , yes we are still receiving the channels which have switched to the
new satellite, even in HD. Except recently when we had bad weather and heavy
rain. They then became erratic. But we managed to get better reception on some
of the regional stations in the 900's. The dish is very large and  we were unable to
have it fitted in the old place on the wall. Or on our small chimney where it would
be too visible. We had it fitted at ground level in a corner of our terrace against the
terrace wall, which is about  1 metre high. I think that most people will have to fit
it in the garden or on a terrace if there is not a suitable facing wall. Ours had windows
and doors onto the terrace so not enough room. So it was a success. Hope this helps.

19 February, 2014

Under normal circumstances we do not experience any problems and the installation by Ray was excellent.   We have had a couple of problems but it is normally linked to bad weather, and is something we have experienced before anyway.

1)      On BBC1 (101) we will get a frozen line one third of the way down the screen a number of times for a very short period.   If we switch to BBC1 (958) North West we don't experience the problem.

2)      Last Saturday (15th) we lost the picture completely during a storm 20-30 mins before the Man City/Chelsea match on ITV (103).   When I tuned to ITV+1 we had a picture no problem.   The picture on ITV (103) was restored midway through the first half.

3)      We have had no problems with Channels 4 & 5.

The 1 metre plus dish is situated in our garden, next to a large A/C heating unit and is not obtrusive amongst the vegetation.

We are very pleased to be able to continue receiving all our favourite channels and most of our visitors do not even know we changed the dish.

Kind regards

Dear Terry/Jay

I had the new 1metre plus hi-gain dish fitted last year through Ray and so far it has been great.  We haven't lost any of the major channels.

The only thing I can say is that in bad weather, wind & rain, we do lose the signal temporarily on BBC1 and BBC2.

We have it fitted on the side of our house where no one can see it so it isn't a problem for us.

I would highly recommend it to anyone who has the space for it.

BBC1 on 101 is 100% OK
BBC2 on 102 is 100% OK
ITV on 103 is 90% OK but pixillates from time to time so we watch it on ITV HD (ch.178) which is very good
Channel 4 on 104 likewise - but we have very good reception on C4HD on 230
Channel 5 on 105 likewise - and we can't get any signal at all on C5HD on 171
Re the appearance and size of the dish, we live in a five-storey block of flats so its size doesn't bother us as it's out of sight on top of the flat roof. It was too big to fit through the access-way to the roof (a kind of trapdoor) so Ray had to haul it up on a rope from the outside, from our 3rd floor premises. Fun.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Tony

Hi Terry,

Yes, we seem to be fine with the 1m Plus dish so far. We have had particularly bad weather the last couple of weeks and so when it has been very windy or rainy we do lose the signal sometimes.  However, its fine and we do have all the UK channels in HD so we are happy and enjoying the winter olympics! Rich

Comment from HAS Europe:

This client is still finding BBC, ITV channels to watch

but we do think the dish is slightly out of alignment and

inspite of dish being out of aiignment the customer can still use using the

different channel numbers. This client is awaiting a service call.

He we go

Since changing to the new high grain dish I have had no problems with receiving BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, ihave better reception on CH5 hd.

The appearance of the dish is not a problem and Has Europe did a wonderful job with the installation of the new dish.

the dish is obviously bigger but the importance is the channel reception, I am just glad to continue to receive bbc, itv, ch 4 and 5!!

Installed client 1Metre Plus dish today (with washers)
He had an existing dish 105cm by 110cm, our 1m max is well out-performing that dish
Still good news at the moment!

Hi guys,
Interesting that their existing 1.2m round dish (Made by Sedea) is performing very poorly, virtually no signal. Our 1m Plus Dish is well out-perform this dish!

Hi Terry Thank you for your rapid installation of our new 1 Metre plus dish. If anything the signal is stronger and we have had no problem viewing 101, 102, 103, 104 and 105 since the change over. We like the new pale coloured dish, it is much less intrusive than the old one , and the size is not a problem as it blends in better. Thank you HASEUROPE

Hi Terry
Yes the new 1 Metre plus dish is working well except in extreme weather conditions when the picture goes or in electric storms I ve had problems
The dish is positioned and supported by the chimney and I dont notice it anymore than I did the old smaller one  . I have clear pictures in all channels so I am enjoying the Olympics and my favourite programmes
Thanks for your efficient service

Thanks for upgrading my subscription so quickly. For the record, we have had absolutely no problem whatsoever with our reception considering the change over & the heavy rain. Your organisation has again performed brilliantly. Can't recommend HAS highly enough.

Hi Terry,

Just to let you know that  at Midnight tonight Monday 10 Feb  all channels were back to normal.

They were not working at 8pm. Is it the better weather or the time of the day?

Interesting is that here at the club we have bbc working on the club satellite dish but not on mine which is the dish that you show on your tshooting page.

They are both new dishes but one is receiving and the other not.

Shall I just keep my eye on it or could it be that maybe we are lucky to have one receiving.

Rich

Comment from HAS Europe:

Hi Richard
It may be that your dish at home has moved a little in the wind we have had
Try other BBC channels 951 to 972
See how it works in good weather if still a problem we will need to arrange a service call
Thanks

FYI re channels, it may help with clients

On my system I lost itv this morning but can get itv hd, I can't get bbc2 but went to 951 channels and picked it up there. It seems as if Scot and NI were strong, London and east didn't work

On the club system everything works and its the same dish, make and size.

This box only has a single feed though, Rich

Thanks for the call on Saturday.
It appears that in heavy cloud and torrential rain i lose the signal for BBC and ITV even with the new 1Metre plus dish. Today it has rained on and off all day and on trying the TV just now it is working fine…but the intensity of the rain this evening is much less than last Friday/Saturday.
Hope that helps as feedback.
Kind regards
David

Report received 17:09 8th February 2014
Hi guys
Reception report.
Heavy rain over weekend-signal goes on all BBC completely.
If it's just light rain it copes ok.
Itv/4 moving Tuesday ?
Will that be similar to BBC.
Lot of people say 1.2 meter is way to go but not sure even that would deal with heavy rain !

Update: The new BBC News HD breaks up as soon as it starts raining-503 All other channels ok-Could it be that new HD channels are already on the UK spot beam ?

Comment from HAS Europe:

Thanks for keeping us up to date with reception.

HD Version of the BBC News Channel is on 2F which is very weak and we expect Astra 2E coming on line in February to

have a similar footprint.

We would expect that reception of channels from Astra 2F & Astra 2E to suffer when it's raining

and unfortunately the work around going to the Non HD Channel for BBC News will probably stop working

as this will switch to the new Astra 2E when Astra 1N is moved.

So in summary, our hope and expectation is that clients using the HasEurope 1 Metre Plus dish most of the time

will have reception from BBC, ITV, Channel 4 And Channel 5 etc… but will experience problems

trying to view when it's raining, luckily EastEnder's has a sunday Omnibus!

Sky Channels like Sky One, News, Movies, Sport will fair much better when it's raining as much stronger signal.

Regards Terry

After the really strong winds on Sunday I have lost the signal on all my channels. I think the dish has moved in the wind.

Comment from HAS Europe:

Following the strong winds on Sunday 10/11/13 Three of our clients dishes moved.

Interestingly they were all 1Metre Plus dishes.

Ray the local installer is now modifying the dish to make it more resilient in the wind.

It's very overcast today and channels 140 and 105 are both down. I've been checking 140 regularly and it tends to break up even in good weather. I'm guessing that the larger dish won't be able to pick up BBC TV and radio when the change of satellite comes? What do you think?

Update: Both 105 and 140 coming through perfectly at the moment day and night! Thanks for all your help!

Comment from HAS Europe:

Since receiving the original review the local installer returned to re-align the satellite dish, Robert supplied the update after the re-alignment had taken place.

The new HasEurope 1Metre Plus High Gain dish was installed on 17 October. We had previously lost Channel 5 (105) and channel 4seven (140) but both channels are now working perfectly with the new HasEurope 1Metre Plus High Gain dish and we have a crystal clear picture. Delighted so far.

So far so good! Sorry I haven't given you any input but what is there to say? If it works, why fix it? There were absolutely NO problems so far as I can see. Maybe if you give me some parameters of concern I could answer more in depth but I Love it and BTW our friends also VERY happy with it!
